Under desk treadmill

An under desk treadmill is a walking pad. Same product, different name — flat, handlebar-free, sized to sit beneath a standing desk. The desk-fit checklist, in order

1. Deck height plus your desk's minimum standing height. A pad adds several centimetres under your feet. Measure your desk's lowest standing setting, then check the pad's own deck height against it — not the other way round. This is the single most common reason people return one.
2. Footprint versus the space under the desk. Deck length and width, plus clearance for your desk's legs or a central support column. A pad that is the right size on paper can still not fit around your specific desk's frame.
3. Noise, at the volume of a work call. You are using this while on video calls and phone calls. No manufacturer we have checked publishes a decibel figure measured to a standard we can verify, so we cannot rank pads by quietness. Ask before you buy, or check owner reviews specifically for mentions of it on calls. ENot established, checked 18 Sept 2026
4. Top speed, honestly assessed. Under-desk use is walking pace, typically up to 6 km/h. If you want to jog on it during a break, check the top speed against that intention rather than assuming.
5. How it stores when you are not using it. Folds-flat and slides-under-furniture designs exist alongside ones that do not fold at all. Check which you are buying, not just that it is "portable".

The desk itself matters as much as the pad

A fixed-height desk that happens to sit at the right height is fine. A sit-stand desk needs to reach its own minimum height plus the pad's deck height and still leave your arms at a sensible typing angle. If your desk's lowest setting is already at the top end of comfortable standing height, an under-desk treadmill may simply not work for you regardless of which pad you choose — check the desk before you shop for the pad.

What we have not established

We have not measured how any of these pads perform on an actual call, how loud they are in a real room, or how they hold up after months of daily use.
