Overview

The NordicTrack C100 Treadmill provides an enjoyable workout machine giving you a “commercial gym grade” treadmill features and reliability for your home gym. I have a crush on this treadmill with the great feature-set.

To find out why and if the price is worth it for you read on.

Key Features of the NordicTrack C100

  • 0 – 20 km/hr speed
  • Flexiselect adjustable cushioning
  • 0 – 10% electronic incline
  • Foldable for storage with electronic ‘easylift’ function
  • Powerful and quiet 2.5 CHP / 3.5 Peak HP motor
  • Large running deck area
  • Built-in speakers
  • Both wireless and handlebar heart rate monitor

Functions and Performance

The NordicTrack C100 comes with a full suite of features and functions. Including 16  programmed workouts. The ‘OneTouch’ buttons provide a noticeably quick change in speed and incline.

The Nordic C100 treadmill includes speakers and an MP3 player ‘aux’ input. However the speakers are below-average quality, so just using headphones with your mp3 player/ smartphone is a better option.

The LCD display with ‘RaceTrack’ shows you all your important workout information at the same, including – speed, incline and distance, as well as your heart rate. So there’s no need to scroll through a variety of menus.

The ability to use either the handlebars or a separate wireless heart rate chest strap is a great innovation.

Noise Level

The C100 Nordictrack has a bigger and better belt that is designed to reduce the noise levels along with the ‘flexselect’ cushioning system that allows you to reduce impact (and noise) further.

Given the heavy 79kg weight of the treadmill, I would recommend also investing in a rubber mat to put the treadmill on to protect your flooring and further reduce noise.

The C100 motor is quieter than many other models and is definitely quiet enough to use in an apartment or any other home space, and it won’t bother the neighbours or other family members.

Horsepower and Speed

The drive system in this treadmill is built to deliver high-performance and smooth and consistent power. This is a 20 km/h treadmill which features a self-cooling 2.5 continuous/ 3.5 peak horsepower ‘DurX’ Motor. NordicTrack C100 Treadmill also has speeds ranging from 0 to 20 km/h so that you can choose to walk, jog, or run. You can easily adjust the speed with a simple touch of the button.

These are all premium commercial grade specs and are more than enough no matter what exercise plan you have in mind.

Incline Levels

The automatic incline can be changed directly during your workout via the responsive control system. This lets you can keep your focus on your workout while being able to change the incline in just seconds without having to stop.

You can adjust the incline level up to 10%. This will help reduce joint impact while providing some ‘hills’ in your workout routine.

The ‘FlexSelect’ cushioning system allows you to control the cushioning isolators that are located on each side of the running deck that further protects your knees and ankles. One-half turn gives impact reduction, while another half turn provides a stable and firm surface that will mimic road conditions as if you were running outside.

Size and Weight

The NordicTrack C100 has a space saver design so that when you are not using it, you can easily fold it for convenient storage. This Nordictrack folding treadmill features EasyLift Assist Hydraulic dampening spring that lifts the machine for you so that it can be easily folded without having to worry about the weight of the base.

  • Treadmill Dimensions: 186L x 92W x 149H cm
  • Folded Dimensions: 91L x 02W x 169H cm
  • Product Weight: 79 kg  (it’s heavy!)
  • Boxed Dimensions: 196L x 77W x 29H cm
  • Packaged Weight: Boxed 92 kg
  • Running Deck Area: 140L x 51W cm

The telescoping shock helps lift the deck, and when you are ready to take the treadmill out again, the deck will slowly drop into place, so you don’t have to fight with it.

Assembly and Delivery

Orders delivered within the United Kingdom are offered with free delivery. This 20 km treadmill comes packaged in one hefty and large box which is difficult to move around.

It will require at least two people to lift and move it to its intended destination. Thankfully the delivery crew will take it to your room of choice.

Assembly is somewhat complicated, mainly due to all the premium feature you are getting. However, you should be able to get it done in about an hour. Ideally, have a second person around as this will make some steps of the assembly easier.

Maximum User Weight

The maximum user weight is 120 kg/ 18st 12lb/ 264 lb. This is greater than the usual 100 kg limit, so a good option for overweight runners and muscular/ tall athletes.

Conclusion

The NordicTrack C100 Treadmill offers many features that make it ideal for a home workout. From the large running area to the lift technology, the convenience and ease of use are hard to match.

Overall, I have very few complaints about the NordicTrack C100 Treadmill. The main downsides are only the somewhat frustrating assembly process and the unimpressive built-in speakers.

That said, NordicTrack C100 Treadmill is a favourite for me, and one of my two current home treadmills.

So the bottom line of this Nordictrack c100 review is if you are looking for a treadmill that is commercial grade AND you are happy to invest in quality for the long term then this treadmill is an ideal choice.
